Obituary of Leslie W. Foote

Leslie W. Foote, 95, of Syracuse died Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at James Square Health and Rehabilitation Centre with family by his side. Born in Cornwall, VT, to Martha (Whitney) and Leslie Baker Foote, Leslie moved to Syracuse in 1946. He was an Army Veteran, serving during WWII. Leslie worked many years for the American Red Cross, retiring in 1984. He was an avid gardener and loved to travel. His wife of 61 years, the former Marjorie Palmer, died in 2007. Leslie was also predeceased by his brother Hilton. Surviving are two sons David (Jane) of PA and Ronald (Karen) of Navarino; two grandchildren Ronald Jr. of Navarino and Kathryn (Lucas) Ceterski of Amboy Center; two great-grandchildren Anna and Gavin; several nieces and nephews. A private service and burial will be held in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call on the family at the home of Ron Foote, 3436 Amber Road, Syracuse, from 2 to 6pm Tuesday, October 20, 2015. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Navarino Volunteer Fire Department, 3276 Amber Road, Syracuse, NY 13215.
