Obituary of Carolyn A. Block

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carolyn (Marsh) Block, age 85, of South Onondaga. She left this earth on October 20^th after a lengthy illness. Carolyn was born on November 1, 1938, and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by four children, Mike (Betty) of Solvay, Ron (Jeff Curtis) of Cleveland, Gary (Brenda) of Navarino and Lorraine (Scott) Shafer of Scriba, along with nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, a sister, Loretta Milewski of Jacksonville, North Carolina, and many nieces and nephews along with a circle of close friends.

A graduate of Lafayette High School, Carolyn devoted her life to her family and was known for her quiet grace and support of all. She spent many years dedicated to volunteering at Community General Hospital and rarely missed opportunities to cheer her grandchildren and great-grandchildren on in their many activities.

Carolyn was predeceased by her husband, Jack, and a son, Terry, along with her parents Rex and Violet Marsh and a sister, Vera Roseberry.

Calling hours will be from 12pm-2pm and a Farewell Service at 2pm on Sunday, October 27th, 2024, both held at Ryan Funeral Home, 44 E. Main St. Marcellus, NY. Following the service there will be a Celebration of Life for Carolyn at the Navarino Volunteer Fire Department. There will be a private burial in the near future.
