Obituary of Sally (Daly) Clay
Sally (Daly) Clay, age 95, of Camillus and formerly of Marcellus passed away peacefully at her home on May 25, 2024. She was predeceased by her husband Henry Clay, four sisters and three brothers.
Sally was a graduate of Crouse School of Nursing. She was a former long-time resident of Marcellus, where she raised her family. She resumed her nursing career in the 1970s and worked as a nurse manager at St. Camillus for many years. Sally also volunteered at the Red Cross and Meals-on-Wheels her entire adult life.
Sally loved her family – especially her 10 grandchildren, Syracuse Basketball and the NY Yankees.
Surviving are her children Susan (Randy Brentlinger) Daly, Dennis (Deb) Daly, Nancy (Jay) Hudlin and Barbara (Eric) Alderman; step-son Bill (Bernice) Clay; her sister Helen Demo; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Her family extends a heart-felt "thank you" to her caregivers.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, June 2nd from 2 to 4pm, and the CNY Syracuse Nurses Honor Guard Service will follow at 4pm, both held at Ryan Funeral Home, 44 E. Main Street, Marcellus.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Sally's name to Pomeroy College of Nursing at Crouse Hospital.
