Obituary of James R. Featherstone

James R. Featherstone, 86, of South Onondaga passed away peacefully at home on February 15, 2024, surrounded by his family and an overwhelming amount of love. Born August 4, 1937, Jim grew up in Nedrow and was the proud son of Robert W. Featherstone and Doris M. (Knox) Featherstone. He was a US Air Force Veteran. Jim first worked for the railroad and then 32 years at Frazer & Jones of Solvay before he retired in 2000. He loved NASCAR, especially Kyle Busch, golf and football. He took pride in his lawn which looked like a golf course.

Jim was predeceased by his parents Robert and Doris, and his sister Marilyn. He is survived by his loving wife Bobbie Lynn; his children Lisa (Jay) White of South Onondaga, Darren (JoAnn) Featherstone of Tully, Kelli (Robert) Hammond of Vermontville and Paul (Melissa) Abend II of Jamesville; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandsons; his brother Robert Featherstone; close friends Eric, Michelle and Rick Pollock; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 4 to 6:30 pm and a Memorial Service will then follow from 6:30 to 7 pm, both held at Ryan Funeral Home, 44 E Main St., Marcellus, NY. The burial will be the next morning, Friday, February 23rd at 11 am at South Onondaga Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
