Obituary of John "Jack" Corbett
John "Jack" Corbett, 95, of Marcellus died Tuesday at Crouse Hospital. Jack came to the United States from County Clare, Ireland in 1949. He was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church, Marcellus. He retired from Niagara Mohawk in 1989 after 39 years of service.
Jack enjoyed his time at camp in the Adirondacks. He was an avid hunter and a member of the Tom Dooley Choraliers and the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Jack was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Jean; son Douglas and grandson Tyler.
Surviving Jack are his children Kathleen Corbett of Baldwinsville, Sean Corbett of North Syracuse, Nancy (Tim) Antos of Marcellus, Terry (Juan) Becerra of Saratoga Springs and James (Laurel) Corbett of Manlius; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, January 9th from 3 to 6pm at Ryan Funeral Home, 44 E. Main Street, Marcellus. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am Wednesday, January 10th in St. Francis Xavier Church. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Marcellus.
