Obituary of Marianne Drew Jula
Marianne Drew Jula, 90, of Marcellus, NY passed away October 14, 2022. Born in Waukegan, IL August 2, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Bernard and Anne Drew. Marianne was a graduate of Holy Child High School in Waukegan, she then entered the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration, in Clyde, MO.
After 20 years Marianne left the order and graduated with a BA in Social Case Work and Psychology, from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN and worked for the St. Louis County Social Services in Duluth for 27 years.
In 2001 after retiring, Marianne and her husband Peter moved to Marcellus. Active in the Community, she was a lector and Eucharistic Minister at St. Francis Xavier Church, a member of the Marcellus Garden Club, Red Hat Society, Friends of the Marcellus Free Library, Thursday Peace Luncheon Group and Drivers for Seniors.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband Peter Jula; two sisters Sister Betty Drew SHCJ. and Donna Incaudo, and her brother Daniel T. Drew.
Marianne is survived by her sister Kathleen Spong (Ron) and sister-in-law Margaret Drew; niece AnnMarie Clark (Paul); stepdaughter Jacquelin Sengthao (Lee); granddaughters Erin Sengthao, Whitney Plate (Trevor), Kellie Sengthao and Georgeanne Toman (Jerry), and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11am in St. Francis Xavier Church, One W. Main Street, Marcellus, on Thursday, October 20, 2022. Recitation of the Rosary will follow from 11 to 11:30 and a Mass of Christian Burial will then be celebrated at 11:30. The Rite of Committal and burial will be at Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse.
