Obituary of Jonathan M. Oaks

Jonathan Matthew Oaks, 67, of Otisco Lake died June 9, 2020. Jon was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard, member of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, and a proud American. He will be remembered most for pride in his family and his love of music. Jon was an independent thinker with a passion for history and politics. He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Joan Oaks, and his beloved brother Tod. Jon is survived by his wife Penny; three daughters Sara (Jason Hall), Kate (Pat Shaw) and Abby (Ryan Blaney); grandchildren Harper, Lennon, Eli, Elizabeth, Harris, Josie and June, as well as siblings Douglass (Darienne), Mark (Carolyn), Ellen (Eddie Peterson) and Tod's widow Lisa. He will be waiting to hold the hand of his bride, Penny Joan Carlton, once again. "And time after time, you'll hear me say that I'm, so lucky to be loving you." Services will be private.
