Obituary of Anna M. Beamish
Anna M. Beamish, 99, formerly of Fredonia, NY passed away Friday, April 3, 2020 at Loretto in Syracuse, NY. She was born in Silver Creek, NY to the late Henry and Anna (Holzinger) Miller. Anna lived most of her life in Fredonia before moving to Marcellus, NY to be with her son, Robert and his family, in 2001. She was a member and past president of the Fredonia Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and a founding member of the Charlie Murray Broken Ladder and Ruptured Hose Company (a Convention group). Anna was also a member of the Friendly 36 Club and the Grandmother Club in Fredonia. Back in the day, she worked as a packer at the Hygrade Seed Company and then, many years as a lunch monitor at the Normal School, both in Fredonia.
Anna was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Lyle C. Beamish in 1984, her daughter Bonnie Lee Beamish (1938) and her daughter-in-law Elaine (Gworek) Beamish (2016). She was also predeceased by her sisters: Virginia Ball, Alice Schnur, Nola Guzzetta and Donna Sikorski.
Surviving are her son, Robert Beamish of Marcellus; her sister, Helen Porpiglia of Silver Creek, NY; grandchildren Theresa (John) Douglass of Boiling Springs, SC, Kathleen (Richard) Jenkins
of Marcellus, NY and James (Teresa) Beamish of Melrose, NY; and great-grandchildren Rachel, Richelle, Sarah, Gabriella, Colleen and Kyle.
Services will be private with burial next to her husband at Forest Hill Cemetery in Fredonia, NY. A Celebration of Her Life will be held at a future date.
