Obituary of Sheila Murphy Welch

Sheila Murphy Welch, 58, of Marcellus and formerly of Parsons Drive, Westvale, died unexpectedly Sunday morning. Sheila was the daughter of the late Ferne and Ed Murphy. She was a 1974 graduate of Westhill High School. Sheila and her husband Dan lived many years in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. She had worked for USAir and enjoyed her present job at Syracuse University College of Law, and was an avid Syracuse Sports Fan. Admired for her grace and attitude on life, Sheila showed up in a big way and left nothing short of a big impact on those who loved her. Sheila's greatest love was her family and all her friends. Surviving are her husband of 35 years Dan; daughters Shannon and Kelly; brothers Ed (Beth) Murphy and Patrick (Yvonne) Murphy; and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be 3 to 7pm Thursday, December 4, in St. Joseph's Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30am Friday, also in St. Joseph's Church, Camillus.
