Obituary of W. Sterling Jansen
W. Sterling Jansen, 93, of Marcellus, passed away at home Monday, with family by his side. Born in Lowville, Sterling was the son of the late Raymond R. and Hazel VandeWalker Jansen. He was an Army Veteran of WWII. Sterling worked at Key Bank for 40 years, retiring as Vice-President of Personal. He enjoyed many years wintering in Jensen Beach, Florida
Sterling was predeceased by his wife of 63 years the former Ruth H. Sagar in 2009 and his brother Richard S. Jansen in 1942.
Surviving are his two sons Richard (Carol) Jansen of Marcellus and Mark Jansen of Syracuse; his sister Virginia Foell of Dayton, Ohio; sister-in-law Lois Helmer of Marcellus; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Service and burial will be private. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of CNY, 441 W. Kirkpatrick Street, Syracuse, NY 13204.
